The Amsterdam Dance Event marks 30 years with the edition that opened on 21 October, and its business conference, ADE Pro, is putting music technology at the centre of the week. Organisers want the programme to be where the music industry and the tech platforms work out how AI, infrastructure and digital ownership get built and paid for.

The main session is an AI platforms roundtable on licensing, attribution and model training. It brings together the chief executives of Splice, Deezer and Image-Line (the maker of FL Studio), Believe's chief operating officer, and senior people from SoundCloud and NVIDIA. Jeff Chang, a product director at Google DeepMind, is due to talk about AI agents in music production.

  • Artists: BT, Portrait XO and Mathame speak on how AI affects authorship and income, and other sessions look at artist-owned distribution and human curation as alternatives to algorithmic feeds.
  • Money: investment sessions feature Tinie Tempah and Sam Feldt. The ADE Startups programme ends with eight early-stage companies presenting to investors after a 12-week mentorship.

The conference runs alongside a festival programme of more than 3,600 artists across 1,300+ events in over 300 venues until 25 October.
