The ICC has published the fixture list for the 2027 men's Cricket World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Twelve teams will play across 12 venues, starting in Cape Town on 7 October 2027 and finishing with the final in Johannesburg on 21 November.
The opening match at Newlands is a rematch of the 2023 final: holders Australia against India. India and Pakistan are drawn in the same group again and meet in Johannesburg on 10 October. That is the tournament's biggest commercial draw, and the two sides could meet twice more, in the Super 7 stage and in the final.
Format and venues
- Group A: Australia, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and a qualifier.
- Group B: New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and a qualifier.
- The top three in each group, plus the best fourth-placed side, go through to a seven-team Super 7 stage. Some teams are pre-seeded into it, so fans know the venues in advance. The top four then reach the semi-finals.
- The semi-finals are at Newlands on 17 November and Centurion's SuperSport Park on 18 November.
Zimbabwe open their home campaign against Afghanistan in Bulawayo on 11 October. A newly built ground at Victoria Falls hosts their final group game, against India on 24 October, plus three Super 7 matches. England play two group games in Namibia. The last two places will be decided by a 10-team qualifier early next year and a Super Series in Namibia.
ICC chairman Jay Shah said the three hosts would combine "a deep passion for cricket, extraordinary destinations and a renowned warmth of welcome."
