LA28 has picked "Stars Align" as the official slogan of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It launched worldwide on 28 October with a 60-second campaign film set to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Can't Stop". The film shows the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory and the city's golden-hour skyline.

Every organising committee chooses a slogan for its host city, alongside the Olympic and Paralympic mottos. "Stars Align" follows Rio 2016's "A New World", Tokyo 2020's "United by Emotion" and Paris 2024's "Games Wide Open". LA28 pitches it as a call to athletes, volunteers and fans alike. The film runs on LA28's channels and on IOC and IPC platforms, so the campaign reaches the whole Olympic and Paralympic network on the road to the Games.

"In 2028, hard work meets the city of dreams," said LA28 chief marketing officer Alex Merchán, who called the film "just the spark for what's to come".

The Olympic Games open on 14 July 2028 and the Paralympics on 15 August. Los Angeles becomes the third city to host three Olympic Games and stages its first Paralympics.
